25 Years of Farming - 20 Years of Wine - 15 Years of the Tasting Room.
We go back to where it all began. The Vineyard on Ballard Canyon. This allocation is an in-depth study of our Estate Vineyard in the Ballard Canyon AVA.
In this allocation, we dive deep into the history of Saarloos and Sons - We Explored all of the grapes we grow on the property and discussed the long, hard road we have taken to get here. We study the Estate Syrah, Grenache, and Petit Verdot.
We show their similarities and differences as we describe and illustrate the foundations of Terroir. Terroir is a French term that means “a sense of place.”
When someone says a wine exhibits terroir, all they mean is that the wine they are drinking tastes the way a wine grown and made in the region where it was grown and made should taste.
