- From Ground To Harvest - These are Special.

When you are young, you get to see the BEST VERSION of your Father when he is doing something he loves. That best version of my Father is when he was around the game of Baseball.

I believe that Father's first love was Baseball. I never asked him why he loved it so much; he just always did. We would go to so many baseball games that it almost became a punishment for me at some point. But, my Father was the kind of guy that would go back to his high school to watch a game and talk to his friends.

I gave it up when I was 11, much to my Father's dismay. He told me if I didn't play Baseball, I would have to work with him all summer. He thought I would quit after a week of work and go back and play. But after I got my first paycheck, there was no going back for me.

Luckily my Father had 2 sons. Kirk was a baseball prodigy, the best kid on any team he played on. My Father loved it. We would travel the State and the country chasing my brother and Baseball.

If you cut my Father's dream in half, you get my brother and myself. Baseball was a lifelong passion of my fathers. He loved everything about it—the game within the game, the people playing catch. My brother stood on my Father's shoulders and became my Father's dream... I am a little less exciting. My Father's other dream was living a life of purpose. To get up each day and push the rock a few inches. To build things and take personal pride in the outcome. His dream was growing something from the ground - mine became making his work immortal. — As @kirksaarloos and I face a new season, he's with a team of young men he personally recruited gearing up for greatness: and I am looking down the barrel of my every harvest without Dad - it all seems very big.

My brother and I have been talking every day, and this weight seems to fill us with thick smoke. - both of us have come to realize that we are not living our Father's dream - we are both living out our own dreams.

And that was his dream for us.

It just happens that we all had the same dream.

If you have kids, give this gift to them.

Honor and Prepare.
